About The Conference 2018

Intuit Israel, in cooperation with @PyData Israel, are proud to bring the international Woman in Data Science (WiDS) to Tel Aviv for the first time.

The Global Women in Data Science Conference aims to inspire and educate data scientists worldwide, regardless of gender, and support women in the field. This annual one-day technical conference provides an opportunity to hear about the latest data science related research and applications in a broad set of domains, all genders are invited to participate in the conference, which features exclusively female speakers. The conference is being sponsored by Intuit and all money raised through ticket sales will be donated to  “Neot Aviv” hostel.

Attendance at this event is open to male and female Data Scientists working in Industry, Academia, or advanced university students. Registration will be open from Jan 18th until February 28th, or until tickets are sold out.

The conference will take place in Tel Aviv, will include ~300 people with content ranging from keynotes, to tutorials, to lightning talks, to roundtable discussions. All talks would be in English.

 

Shir Meir Lador

WIDS TLV ambassador

Shir is a data science team lead at Intuit, the global leader in financial management software. Additionally, she is the co-founder and organizer of PyData Tel Aviv meetups, the co-founder and host of “Unsupervised -podcast about data science in Israel” and give talks at various machine learning and data science conferences and meetups. 

Shir holds an MSc in electrical engineering and computers with a major in machine learning and signal processing from Ben Gurion University.

Lightning Talks​

Highly practical and technical, detailed and specific topics, varies from practical tip our speakers learned in their work/research as a data scientist, through common errors, highly simple and attractive solution to famous/complicated problems, etc. The talks would last 10 minutes exactly.

Round Tables

This special format will allow you to lead a discussion about a subject relevant directly to your work with other professionals interested in this topic. It would include 5 minutes presentation of a topic by you and then a 15 minutes discussion in one of the following directions to your selection – different subjects of practical data science (leading a data science team, Feature engineering, modelling, applying parallel computing for preprocessing of big data, etc.) – different domains – recommendations, vision, medical, banking, fraud, security.
